The ICDP's philosophy is that the best way to support a child is to reassure and raise awareness of the child's caregivers.

The ICDP Programme International Child Development Programme (ICDP) is a competence-building programme in the field of psycho-social and educational care for children. The goal is to work for the healthy development of children worldwide. The program was developed and is based upon scientific research in child development.
ICDP enhances children’s psychosocial development and wellbeing. The programme focuses enriching and stimulating the interaction between caregivers, parents and teachers and their children in such a way that enhance the childrens cognitive and social skills.
ICDP works with children’s caregivers both teachers and parents to create a loving, caring and guiding educational environment for children.
⁃ Training of preschool and school teachers to enhance the quality of interactions in the classroom and/or children’s parents.
⁃ As a parental programme applied through education, primary health care or social services.
⁃ As a competence building programme for staff in children’s centres or hospitals.

International partners
Partners over the years: Unicef, WHO, Save the children, Plan, Sida and others. In Russia, ICDP has conducted trainings using the program for schools and preschools, psychologists and other specialists of different NGOs. In Norway, Sweden and Denmark the authorities are using the programme in the field of health and childcare services. It is used in the different Municipalities in education for preschools and schools, in social services and universities with projects for children, families and youth.
